2026 Capital Credits Announcement

Twin County Electric Power Association is proud to announce the retirement of $1,444,825 in capital credits to our members-owners. The 2026 retirement reflects margins allocated from 1995,1996, 2009, and 2025, returning value directly to the members who received electric service from Twin County during these years.

Capital credits are one of the most meaningful benefits of being a member-owner of Twin County EPA. Because Twin County operates as a nonprofit utility, any margins remaining after operating expenses are allocated back to the members based on the amount paid for electricity. When the cooperative’s financial position allows, those allocated credits are retired and returned to our members – demonstrating the value of cooperative ownership and your role in our shared success.

General Manager Leslie Holloway emphasizes the importance of this process, noting that capital credit retirements demonstrate both the cooperative’s strength and its commitment to affordability.

“Returning excess margins to our membership exemplifies the financial stability of our cooperative,” Holloway said. “We are committed to providing affordable, reliable electric services to our members.”

Capital credit checks were mailed at the end of June. If you were a member during any of the listed years and did not receive a check, please contact the Hollandale office after July 15th for assistance.

As a member of Twin County EPA, you can take pride in knowing that your cooperative is always working to improve your investment.

Things to Consider

  • Members with patronage capital balances of less than $10 will not receive a check. These smaller amounts are reserved and accumulated over time with each annual retirement.
  • Once an account reaches $10 or more, a check will be issued with the next retirement.

Keep Your Address Current

  • Twin County makes every effort to ensure members receive the patronage capital that is rightfully yours. Please keep your branch office updated with your correct contact information so you don’t miss your check.

Update your Name on the account

If you need to update a name or organization on an account due to death or insolvency, please fill out the appropriate affidavit. Affidavits require a notary, along with a copy of a death certificate.
